Help Wanted! Must be at least 16 years of age! Inner Peaks Youth Climbing Coaches and Youth Recreation Instructors Program Staff are responsible for facilitating, supervising, coaching, and instructing youth registered for Inner Peaks Team and After School Recreation Programs. Staff within these programs will be expected to work cross-functionally between competitive and non-competitive opportunities.
Expectations
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have professional experience coaching or working with youth.
- Must be outgoing and passionate about coaching others.
- Responsible for providing outstanding customer service to customers, guests, and team participants.
- Teach youth curriculums professionally and respectably while remaining mindful of team members’ different learning styles and backgrounds in sessions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude with participants and co-staff in the facilities.
- Manage group flow and organization through leadership and communication.
- Demonstrate an eagerness to help with operational tasks, including belaying, teaching, engaging with customers and parents, executing Instructor related tasks like answering questions fellow staff may have, or setting up teaching areas.
Group Management
- Supervise all session participants and climbers with an intentional attitude that champions risk management, mindfulness, and lifelong learning.
- Instruct participants up to the standard and training of Inner Peaks during instructional time.
- Ensure participants follow Inner Peaks safety rules while staying engaged with their class experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be age 16+ to instruct youth programs at Inner Peaks.
- Experience working with climbing walls and equipment.
- Eager to work with youth climbers and to share knowledge and passion for climbing.
- Experience teaching or instructing diverse groups of people in any capacity.
- Experience in customer service working with youth and adults.
- Available for at least 6 hours weekly.
- Must have availability on weekends or be open to occasionally coaching during the weekend.
