After School Indoor Rock Climbing Program
Welcome to the world of adventure and growth with the Discovery Kidz Climbing After School Climbing Program! Our program is designed to provide youth with an exhilarating and educational experience as they explore the exciting realm of indoor rock climbing. With a structured curriculum, we aim to instill a love for physical activity, teamwork, and personal development while fostering each participant’s strong sense of accomplishment.
The Discovery Kidz Climbing After School Climbing Program was founded with a passion for promoting active lifestyles and empowering young individuals. Our dedicated team of experienced climbing instructors are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where children can develop both their physical and mental skills.
Program Duration: Offered weekly from October through May. Program includes 1.5 hours/week of climbing instruction with all gear included!
Climbers attend class on the same day/time each week and are not permitted to session hop or attend other Discovery Kidz Climbing Club times outside of the one that they have registered for.
Climber’s Program Journey: When your climber joins the Discovery Kidz Climbing Program, they will start by dedicating 1.5 hours, 1x a week for two months, to explore climbing with their peers and coaches.
Once they complete the program’s first two months, they can decide to continue participation or embark on their own journey with climbing.
Age Groups: Our Program offers opportunities for age groups 6-8 and 9-12.

Adventure & Exploration
Our program takes participants on a journey of discovery as they learn the fundamentals of indoor rock climbing. Through hands-on experience, they’ll build strength, coordination, and balance while conquering various climbing routes.
Discovery Kidz Climbing follows a thoughtfully designed curriculum that introduces climbers to different techniques, safety protocols, and challenges. Progression is carefully tracked to ensure that participants advance at their own pace.
Teamwork & Communication
Climbing is not just an individual sport – it’s an opportunity to collaborate, encourage, and learn from one another. Discovery Kidz Climbing emphasizes the importance of teamwork and effective communication while climbing, fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants.
As climbers overcome obstacles and improve their skills, they develop a sense of accomplishment that boosts their self-esteem and confidence. Discovery Kidz Climbing celebrates individual successes, whether reaching the top of a challenging route or mastering a new technique.
Beyond climbing, Discovery Kidz Climbing aims to instill valuable life skills such as problem-solving, perseverance, and adaptability. These skills extend beyond the climbing wall, enriching participants’ personal development.
Enrollment and Payment:
Following the initial payment for program registration, payment for the Program will be automatically billed on the 1st of each month. Upon completion of the first two months, participants may continue their program registration or cancel by the 15th of the month to unenroll from future months.
Eg. If it is November and you would like to cancel for December, you must cancel by November 15th to avoid billing on December 1st.
DKC Monthly Pass Termination Policy: Customers may Terminate their DKC Pass by signing and submitting a Membership Change Request:
- TERMINATION REQUESTS must be submitted and received by the 15th of the month before the requested termination month(s) to be honored.
- Inner Peaks Staff are not permitted to submit termination requests for members.
Cancellation requests submitted past the 15th of the month will be non-refundable, but participants will receive a credit on their accounts that may been redeemed at Inner Peaks. Exceptions may be made in cases where Inner Peaks cancels the Program entirely. Participants will be allowed to attend sessions once initial payment is received.
Awesome! I want to get my kiddo climbing…now what?
- Once you find a location and day of the week that works for you, submit the Discovery Kidz Climbing After School Program Inquiry Form.
- Once you submit this form, please allow 1-2 weeks for processing and a response. Submitting this form does not guarantee a session spot, but we will do our best to get your climber registered as soon as possible with the Discovery Kidz Climbing After School Climbing Program!
- When you receive a response, we will provide the status of the session you are interested in registering your climber for and will confirm when they can get them started! We will also send you a DKC Youth Pass form that you will purchase for your climber’s session! *This DKC Youth Pass is NOT a Membership to our facilities and only covers the monthly DKC Sessions*
- Your climber must commit to at least two months of our Discovery Kidz Climbing Club Program, and you notify our Program Director by the 15th of the month to be removed from the roster and auto-billing for the following month.
- Without notice prior to the 15th of the month before your cancellation month, your climber will continue to be enrolled in the 8-month Discovery Kidz Climbing Program that runs until May 2024. You will be billed at the first of each month until a cancellation notice is given by the 15th of the month before the intended month to cancel.
- What is the Discovery Kidz Climbing After School Climbing Program? The Discovery Kidz Climbing After School Climbing Program is an adventure-based program designed to introduce youth ages 6-12 to the world of indoor rock climbing. Our program focuses on developing physical skills, teamwork, communication, and personal growth in a safe and supportive environment.
- How is safety ensured during the program? Safety is our top priority. Our experienced climbing instructors are qualified to work with youth and well-trained in safety protocols. Each instructor is Safesport certified and will closely supervise participants, teach proper climbing techniques, provide guidance on using climbing equipment correctly.
- Do participants need prior climbing experience? No prior climbing experience is required. Our program caters to climbers of all skill levels, from beginners to those with some experience. Participants will be grouped according to their age and skill level to ensure everyone learns at their own pace.
- What should participants wear and bring? Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes. Climbing shoes are recommended but not mandatory. We provide all necessary climbing gear, including harnesses and shoes. You can also have your climber bring a water bottle and a small snack.
- What’s the schedule for each session? The program runs seasonally from October-May. Climbers meet once a week on the same day for 1.5 hours, depending on the session. The session time provides ample time for warm-up, instruction, climbing, and cool-down activities.
- Can my child join if they are not within the 6-12 age range? We do advise youth being in this age range for the climbing club but if your child is close to the cut off age, please reach out to our Programs Director to inquire about possible age exception.
- Will my child need any special skills? No special skills are required, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a basic level of physical fitness are beneficial. Our instructors will teach climbing techniques and help participants build their skills over the course of the program.
- What happens in case of bad weather? Since our climbing activities take place indoors, the program is not affected by weather conditions. Climbing sessions will proceed as scheduled, rain or shine. No refunds will be given for missed practices due to weather related issues. Extenuating circumstances may be considered.
- Can parents watch the sessions? We encourage parents to support their children, but due to safety and space considerations, we ask that parents observe from designated viewing areas rather than on the climbing floor itself.
- How can I register my child for a session? Registration can be completed online through our booking buttons above. Simply select the desired location, session, provide the necessary information, and make the payment to secure a spot for your child. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
- What if my child misses a class? Will I be refunded? No, no refunds will be awarded for a missed session. Session hopping is also prohibited.
- What can my child gain from this program? Aside from learning climbing skills, participants will develop teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence. The program encourages personal growth in a fun and engaging environment.
- How can I stay updated on my child’s progress? Our instructors are always available to discuss your child’s growth and answer any questions you may have after or before practice.
- Is there a way to contact the program during off-hours? You can contact our Programs Director during business hours for program related inquiries. Outside of these hours, you can leave a message, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please allow for 3-5 business days for a reply.
- What if I am not sure my climber will enjoy DKC, can they try it out? Yes! Please contact our Programs Director to schedule a time for your climber to trial DKC.
