The American Alpine Club and Inner Peaks bring you Ascending Afghanistan: Women Rising. A fundraiser and film screening to benefit Ascend Athletics, an non-profit organization based out of Afghanistan. The film follows Afghanistan’s first female mountaineering team as they attempt their first ascent of a previously unclimbed peak in the stunning Panjshir province, conquer the complex social boundaries of being a young woman in Kabul, and return home victoriously. Enjoy the feature length film, meet the organization’s founder Marina LeGree, and talk with the Afghan mountaineers during a live Q&A. Free Beer and Kombucha provided by Lenny Boy Brewing.
