Doug Cosby

Doug CosbyOwner and General Manager: Doug has been climbing and teaching climbing for over 30 years. He has climbed dozens of 5.13 and hundreds of 5.12 climbs. In the early 90s he established over 50 first assents at the New River Gorge and discovered and spearheaded the development of the climbing at Summersville Lake. Although he is known as a sport climber he has actually spent far more days placing gear than clipping bolts. Doug was a founding and managing partner in Sportrock Climbing Centers in the Washington DC area. In 1997 he sold his share of that company and moved with his wife Page to Charlotte. They opened Inner Peaks the next year.

Page Lee

Page Lee Owner: Page has worked in the climbing gym industry for the past 15 years as a route setter, instructor and gym manager. Her personal climbing has focused on sport and competition, with accomplishments including 5.12 on-sights and a top-30 national competitive ranking. In addition to her duties at Inner Peaks, she is married to Doug Cosby—her business partner and co-owner of Inner Peaks. She is also a full-time parent to her two kids, and maintains a regular yoga practice.

“T”  Weis

T Sorgen Office Manager: I’ve been with Inner Peaks since the climbing gym opened in 1998, working in just about all capacities including, but not limited to managerial, both youth and adult instruction and route setting. Though my climbing experience both indoor and outdoors has been recreational, it has nonetheless provided me with the knowledge I need to help you meet your climbing goals. As Office Manager, I am your go-to person for just about anything, but particularly anything about your membership needs.

Jimmy Forbes

Jimmy Gym Manager: Since graduating from the University of Georgia in 2009, Jimmy has devoted his time to exploring the different paths of an outdoor education professional through seasonal guiding positions and university outdoor programs. He is a certified NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) Instructor, Wilderness First Responder, and Leave No Trace Master. Jimmy first learned to climb seven years ago on granite slab walls in North Georgia, but has grown to love everything from bouldering in the gym, to trad climbing in Wyoming, to mountaineering in Washington.

Michael Clifton

Director of Youth Programs: Michael has been working in the outdoor industry since 1994 in a variety of settings including YMCA, Parks & Recreation, and The Boy Scouts. Originally from Maryland, Michael moved to North Carolina in 1997 with his family. Although he is primarily a whitewater paddler, Michael has a love of climbing and a passion for sharing his knowledge with the youth climbing programs. His other hobbies include music, disc golf, eating delicious seafood, and reading.

Nate Higgs

Director of Marketing and Group Programs: Nate grew up in south Georgia, where he spent as much time as possible outside. He was introduced to rock climbing at 18 when he went to college in Vermont. During school he worked as a climbing leader for his school’s outdoor program. After college, Nate moved to Colorado, where he worked first as a gear rental office manager and then as a wilderness therapy instructor. Now at Inner Peaks, he is excited to be back in a climbing-focused environment.

Brett Crawford

Front Counter Manager: A recent graduate of Clemson University, Brett has devoted his love and passion for climbing to helping people engage in the vertical adventure. He has been climbing since 2006 and feels right at home clipping draws at sport climbing mecca’s such as the Red River Gorge. He has received a Climbing Wall Instructor certification from the American Mountain Guide Association and has been learning the art of route setting. Brett is a serious gear junkie and his easy going demeanor gives him the ability to help customers find the gear they need and provide them with knowledgeable answers to any questions they may have. He is excited about being a part of the Inner Peaks team and looking forward to working hard.
